The Studio

Grace Studios opened its doors in 2010 and is today an award winning studio providing in-person tuition in the Sutherland Shire, St George Area and South Coast, and online lessons for students located anywhere in the world. Grace Studios is one of Sydney's leading Speech and Drama schools, home to some of the highest ranking AMEB accredited teachers in the state. We prepare students for formal, internationally recognised qualifications in the arts.

Here, we teach the five 'C's: confidence, creativity, collaboration, communication and critical thinking. These are invaluable and transferable skills that students can take with them into their personal and professional lives, helping them to succeed in school and in the workplace. Grace Studios is a creative community that promotes inclusion and positive risk taking, helping students to appreciate their own unique qualities, to recognise and value those in others, and to grow into empathetic and passionate leaders.

Our educational services are carefully tailored to map students’ needs and provide rewarding classes for students of all ages and experience levels. The studio provides fun group drama lessons, preparation for AMEB Speech and Drama exams, speech and voice classes, public speaking and communication coaching, HSC Drama tutoring, audition preparation, musical theatre and singing lessons. Students are also encouraged to participate in a range of external performance opportunities, including eisteddfods, exams, auditions, and our annual stage production showcasing students’ work and achievements.

The Director

In both 2018 and 2019 I was named in the top five highest ranking AMEB Speech and Drama Teachers in the State of NSW. As well as working as a peripatetic teacher in schools, I have been the director of my own performing arts studio, Grace Studios, for the past ten years. In this time, I have worked with hundreds of students across the areas of speech, drama and musical theatre. As well as being an accredited AMEB (Australian Music Examinations Board) Speech and Drama teacher, I am a passionate performer with professional experience in film, television, and fashion.

As well as my career in the arts, I am also the CEO of an international technology startup based out of Silicon Valley San Francisco, and chair a not-for-profit promoting STEM education and entrepreneurship for young people. In my roles as a founder and a business woman, I have featured as a keynote speaker at conferences and events around the world, recently including TEDx, The United States Wearable Technologies Conference, and a variety of thought leader panels and guest lectures for universities and educational institutions including: UNSW, UTS and SP Jain School of Global Management. In 2019 I represented Australia, and the University of Sydney, in New York as a Global Voices Scholar at the United Nations 63rd Commission on the Status of Women.

It is worth sharing that I am also highly dyslexic. While completing my Joint Honours in International and Global Studies (First Class), and Master of Digital Communication and Culture (scholarship student) at the University of Sydney, I required a scribe for examinations. I was known to be very ‘naughty’ in early primary and ‘hated reading’, which psychologists largely attributed to ‘boredom’ prior to my diagnosis with Irlen Syndrome. The best thing that ever happened to me was my drama lessons where, at the age of five, a wonderful teacher helped me to learn in ways that suited my unique learning style and which replaced anxiety with freedom of expression and a love of literature. These drama lessons continued for fifteen years and helped to build the foundational life skills that I use today.  I believe the opportunity to empower people to be strong communicators and collaborators is an invaluable gift. My mission is to build a creative learning environment where students of all ages and intelligence types can succeed and thrive.

Learning Online

We provide online tuition for students located anywhere in the world. In-person classes have also resumed since being impacted by COVID-19 closures. As a studio, we are providing additional technical support and e-learning services for students who can not be present in their lessons, or have been impacted by the virus.

Students can complete lessons in-person or online.

We consider creative education an essential service as we are working to ensure that students can continue to connect with their peers, discuss their ideas, imagine and rehearse creative performances, set goals, meet learning outcomes, and pursue their passions.
